Construction time of Guangzhou Metro Line 2

On February 21st, 2000, the first station of Guangzhou Metro Line 2, Haizhu Square Station, was started. On March 30th, Haizhu Square Station was capped. On September 5, 2001, the track-laying project of Guangzhou Metro Line 2 started at the track-laying base in front of the park. On November 29th, 2002, the first train of Guangzhou Metro Line 2 arrived at Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport. On December 29th, the first section of Guangzhou Metro Line 2 (Sanyuanli Station-Xiaogang Station) began trial operation. The section is 8.9 kilometers long. On June 28th, 2003, the section from Xiaogang to Pazhou was opened, and the length of Guangzhou Metro Line 2 (Sanyuanli Station-Pazhou Station) reached 18.28km; On November 28th, the first domestic train of Guangzhou Metro Line 2 rolled off in Changchun. On December 26th, 2005, Wanshengwei Station was opened, and the second phase of Guangzhou Metro Line 2 (Pazhou Station-Wanshengwei Station) was officially put into operation. On June 6th, 2006, the 1000th subway car arrived at Chisha Depot. On April 9, 2007, the dismantling project of Guangzhou Metro Line 2 and Guangzhou Metro Line 8 was started. On May 25th, 2009, the first new trains of Guangzhou Metro Line 2 and Guangzhou Metro Line 8 rolled off the assembly line. On July 19th, the tunnels of Guangzhou Metro Line 2 and Guangzhou Metro Line 8 were connected, which indicated that the tunnels of Guangzhou Metro Line 2 and Guangzhou Metro Line 8 were all connected. On January 18th, 2010, the first additional trains of Guangzhou Metro Line 2 and Guangzhou Metro Line 8 were put into use. On March 22nd, the short track of Guangzhou Metro Line 2 was completed. On March 30th, the power supply equipment of Guangzhou Metro Line 2 was hoisted. On April 30th, the first cold sliding test of Jiahe Depot was successful. On June 16th, the north extension of Guangzhou Metro Line 2 began to slide. From September 22 to September 24, the service of the old Guangzhou Metro Line 2 (Sanyuanli Station-Wanshengwei Station) was suspended to meet the needs of dismantling and joint debugging of Guangzhou Metro Line 2; On September 25th, the original Guangzhou Metro Line 2 was split into two independent new lines, Guangzhou Metro Line 2 and Guangzhou Metro Line 8, and the lane of Guangzhou Metro Line 2 was changed (Jiahe Wanggang Station-Guangzhou South Railway Station). On January 8th, 2013, Guangzhou Metro Line 2 was opened to traffic at peak hours.
