Guangjiao refers to Guangzhou Jiaotong University. Guangzhou Jiaotong University is a new university established in Guangzhou with Guangzhou Institute of Navigation as the main body. In January 2019, the preparatory work of Guangzhou Jiaotong University was officially approved by Guangzhou. The location of Guangzhou Jiaotong University was set in Huangpu District, Guangzhou, and it was expanded in the current campus of Guangzhou Maritime College, and it is planned to start enrolling students in 2020. On the evening of September 10, 2019, the Guangdong Provincial Department of Education publicized Guangzhou Jiaotong University, which Guangzhou applied for. On November 10, 2019, the establishment of Guangzhou Navigation College was handed over to Guangzhou for management.
