Baogong Temple is located on the fragrant flower pier in Baogong Cultural Park. According to 《庐州府志》, &”;The fragrant flower pier, in the city outside the southeast gate of the city, is the reading place for Baogong teenagers. This is a public temple with a number of reeds, a long bridge crossing the river and a shady bamboo tree.&”; According to another inscription, in the first year of Hongzhi in Ming Dynasty (AD 1488), Song Jian (word Keming), the magistrate of Luzhou, saw the elegant environment and scenery of Xiaozhou, so he demolished the small temple and converted it into Baogong Academy, and changed the name of Xiaozhou to Xianghuadun. In 1539, Yang Zhan, the censor, changed the name of Baogong Academy to Baogong Temple.
