Huadu is located in the south-central part of Guangdong Province, the northern edge of the Pearl River Delta and the north of Guangzhou. It is located at 112 57 ′ 07 ″ ~ 113 28 ′ 10 ″ east longitude and 23 14 ′ 57 ″ ~ 23 37 ′ 18 ″ north latitude, and the Tropic of Cancer runs through the middle. Huadu is bordered by Conghua District in the east and northeast, Sanshui City in the west, Nanhai City in the southwest, Baiyun District in Guangzhou in the south and Qingyuan City in the north. In 2000, the city&;s total area was 960.38 square kilometers, accounting for about one-tenth of the country&;s total area.
