Guangzhou is located in the south, belonging to South China, referred to as &”;Sui&”;, also known as Yangcheng. It is the center of politics, economy, science and technology, education and culture in Guangdong Province. At the beginning of the new foundation, Guangzhou was once divided into 28 districts. Later, after several major changes and administrative division adjustments, up to now, there are 11 existing jurisdictions in Guangzhou. Guangzhou has jurisdiction over 11 districts including Yuexiu, Haizhu, Liwan, Tianhe, Baiyun, Huangpu, Huadu, Panyu, Nansha, Conghua and Zengcheng. Guangzhou covers a total area of 7,434.4 square kilometers and is divided into &”;Old Seven Districts&”; and &”;New Four Districts&”;. &”;Old Seven Districts&”;: Yuexiu 33.8 square kilometers, Haizhu 90.4 square kilometers, Liwan 59.1 square kilometers, Tianhe 96.33 square kilometers, Baiyun 795.79 square kilometers, Huangpu 484.17 square kilometers and Nansha 527.65 square kilometers. What I want to explain here is why Nansha District has become one of the &”;Old Seven Districts&”;? Because Nansha District is divided and adjusted by the original Dongshan, Fangcun and Luogang districts. &”;New Four Districts&”;: Panyu District covers 786.15 square kilometers, Huadu District covers 970.04 square kilometers, Conghua District covers 1974.5 square kilometers and Zengcheng District covers 1616 square kilometers. Among them, Guangdong Province and Guangzhou City are located in Yuexiu District. Yuexiu District is the oldest central city in Guangzhou, including some of the most famous scenic spots in Guangzhou, such as Wuyang Stone Statue, Beijing Road, Zhongshan Memorial Hall, etc. At present, Nansha District is one of the rapidly developing jurisdictions. Nansha District, located at the mouth of the Pearl River and the core of Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, is the only sea passage in Guangzhou, and also an important hub node in the Pearl River Delta region. Nansha Port, a deep-water wharf, Zhongchuan Longxue Shipbuilding Base, one of the three major shipbuilding bases, and Nansha Bonded Port Area, Guangzhou, where traffic arteries such as Guangzhou-Shenzhen-Hong Kong Express Railway, Beijing-Hong Kong-Macao Expressway and Guangzhou Metro Line 4 converge. In 2019, the GDP growth rate of Nansha District ranked first in Guangzhou.
