When was Haizhu Bridge built?

Haizhu Bridge was built in 1933, with a total length of 356.67 meters and a main bridge with a total length of 182.90 meters. The north and south spans are symmetrically arranged. It was originally a three-hole through simply supported steel truss bridge with a design load of two trains of 10 tons cars. The middle span is an open structure, which can be separated upward to facilitate the passage of large ships. In 1949, the middle hole steel beam was bombed by the Kuomintang. In 1950, the Guangzhou Branch of Hengyang Railway Bureau was responsible for the restoration and opening to traffic. After repair, it is still a steel truss beam, and the middle hole is no longer movable.
