Guangzhou Metro Line 9 and Line 8 will not be connected for the time being. Guangzhou Metro Line 9 is located in Huadu District, starting and ending at Feieling Station in Huadu and Gaozeng station respectively, and connecting with the northern extension of Guangzhou Metro Line 3 in Gaozeng station. Guangzhou Metro Line 8 runs through Haizhu District, Liwan District and Baiyun District, starting and ending at Wanshengwei Station in Haizhu District and Jiaoxin Station in Baiyun District respectively, which is quite far from Guangzhou Metro Line 9, and there is no plan to connect the two lines in Guangzhou Metro Planning.
