Haizhu District is one of the old four districts in Guangzhou City, Guangdong Province. In the south of the Pearl River in Guangzhou, it was called Jiangnan Zhou in ancient times, and Guangzhou called it &”;Henan&”;. It is located in the middle of Guangzhou City, surrounded by the waterways before and after the Guangzhou reach of the Pearl River system, and it is a natural fertile soil surrounded by water. Haizhu District, with beautiful scenery and pleasant climate, is a green island known as the &”;south lung&”; of Guangzhou. Since December 31st, 2005, Haizhu District has jurisdiction ov:, namely Chigang, Xingang, Binjiang, Sushe, Haizhuang, Fengyang, Longfeng, Shayuan, Ruibao, Jianghai, Nanhuaxi, Nanshitou, Jiangnan Middle, Changgang, Nanzhou, Pazhou, Guanzhou and Huazhou. There are main roads, secondary roads and branch roads on the land. The third-class road network is all over Haizhu District. Twelve river-crossing bridges are connected with all districts in the city. The Inner Ring Road, ring highway and South China are exhausted across Haizhu District, and Metro Line 23 passes through the district.
