Shopping is available. Haizhu Square, built in 1953, is located at the intersection of the central axis of the old city of Guangzhou and the riverside landscape belt. It is the only riverside square in Guangzhou. It has served as a witness to major historical events such as the bombing and reconstruction of Haizhu Bridge and the entry of the People&;s Liberation Army into the city. There are traditional commercial districts such as Taikang Road, Gaodi Street and Yide Road near it. In 1963 and 1982, Haizhu Square and Guangzhou Liberation Memorial Statue were selected as &”;Zhuhai Danxin&”; as the new eight scenic spots in Yangcheng.
