Nan &;ao Island is located in the sea area at the junction of Guangdong Province and Fujian Province. It consists of Nan &;ao Island and 35 surrounding islands, and is known as &”;the barrier of Guangdong Province, the throat of Fujian and Guangdong&”;. The total area of Nan &;ao Island in Shantou is about 114.74 square kilometers, including the main island area of 111.73 square kilometers and the sea area of 4,600 square kilometers. There are natural landscapes on the island, including the Huanghuashan National Forest Park, which is called the &”;Natural Botanical Garden&”;, the island nature reserve, the first island wind farm in Asia, as well as the historic sites of Company commanders mansion, the ancient well in the Southern Song Dynasty, the Taizilou and numerous cultural and historical sites, historic sites and temples.
