Guangzhou has eleven districts at the corresponding level, including Yuexiu, Haizhu, Liwan, Tianhe, Baiyun, Huangpu, Nansha, Panyu, Huadu, Zengcheng and Conghua.
Guangzhou, also known as Yangcheng and Huacheng, is the capital, sub-provincial city, national central city and megacity of Guangdong Province. Guangzhou has a total urban area of 7434.4 square kilometers.
The inner district of Guangzhou is divided into &”;Old Seven Districts&”; (the overall planning area at the same level), &”;Old City&”; (Old District) and &”;New Four Districts&”;.
The old seven districts are: ① Yuexiu, ② Haizhu, ③ Liwan, ④ Tianhe, ⑤ Baiyun, ⑤ Huangpu and ⑦ Nansha.
The third district is: ① Yuexiu, ② Liwan and ③ Haizhu;
The new four districts are: ① Panyu District, ② Huadu District, ③ Conghua District and ④ Zengcheng District.

In 2019, the GDP of Haizhu District reached 142.297 billion yuan, which was 8.5% higher than that of 2019 at comparable prices, 0.1% higher than the average level of Guangzhou (8.4%), and the growth rate ranked third in the region.
Haizhu District is located in the middle of Guangzhou, adjacent to Liwan District, Yuexiu District and Tianhe District across the Pearl River in the north, facing Huangpu District, Liwan District (including Fangcun) and Panyu District in the east, west and south, with a total area of 90.40 square kilometers. The main parts of the region are Haizhu Island and Henan Island, in addition to Guanzhou Island and Yajisha Island.

Huadu District is located in south-central Guangdong Province, north of Pearl River Delta and north of Guangzhou. With a total area of 970.04 square kilometers, the whole area is adjacent to Conghua District in the east, Sanshui District and Nanhai District in Foshan City in the west, Baiyun District in the south and Qingcheng District in Qingyuan City in the north. On July 1st, 1999, Yuexiu District was changed from the original 19 streets to Liuhua, Dongfeng, Hongqiao, Liurong, Guangwei, Guangta, Shishu, Beijing, Daxin and 10 streets. There are 223 neighborhood committees.
Yuexiu District, a municipal district of Guangzhou, is located in the middle of Guangdong Province, starting from Guangzhou Avenue in the east and bordering Tianhe District.
