There are 11 districts in Guangzhou, namely: Liwan District, Yuexiu District, Haizhu District, Tianhe District, Baiyun District, Huangpu District, Panyu District, Huadu District, Luogang District, Nansha District, Zengcheng District and Conghua District. Guangzhou has a total urban area of 7,434.4 square kilometers, and the city-level overall planning areas are Yuexiu, Haizhu, Liwan, Tianhe, Baiyun, Huangpu and Nansha, which are referred to as &”;Old Seven Districts&”; for short. Dongshan, Fangcun and Luogang were originally one of the old seven districts, but they were later cancelled due to the merger. Nansha is a part of the new old seven districts.
