The closest place to the sea in Guangzhou is Nansha (Pearl River Estuary). Take the subway line 4 to Huangge Automobile City and take the bus to Tianhou Palace. There is a pier on Hengdang Island with mountains, water and beaches. It&;s far if you go to the real seaside. It takes at least two hours by car.
