Take Metro Line 2 or Line 6 to Haizhu Square Station, exit B1 to Haizhu Square (Yidedong) Station and take No.8 bus; Take 4 stops and get off at Grand Marshal&;s Mansion Station. Marshal Mansion Memorial Hall (formerly known as Marshal Mansion), located at No.18 Dongsha Street, Textile Road, Haizhu District, Guangzhou City, Guangdong Province, is a historical memorial hall based on the former site of Marshal Mansion, a national key cultural relics protection unit. It was formerly the Grand Marshal&;s Mansion built here in 1917. Guangzhou invested 15 million yuan for reconstruction. It was officially opened to the public on May 1st, 2006. The memorial hall covers an area of 8020 square meters, and consists of the south and north main buildings, the east and west squares and the gate building. The north and south buildings are made of brick, wood, stone, steel and concrete. It is a three-story arched western-style building, mixed with some Lingnan architectural styles such as bamboo-saving drainage pipes, shutter doors and windows, vase guardrail and arcade. The granite gatehouse of Guangdong Shimin Soil Factory before the establishment of Grand Marshal House is still preserved, which is 3.85 meters long, 0.94 meters wide and 0.13 meters thick. The words &”;Guangdong Shimin Soil Factory&”; are engraved on the front door, and the calendar year &”;Guangxu Dingwei Winter Month&”; (December, 1907) is engraved.
