Haizhu District is one of the old four districts in Guangzhou, Guangdong Province. It is located in the south of the Pearl River in Guangzhou, which was called Jiangnan Zhou in ancient times. Guangzhou people call it &”;Henan&”; and is in the middle of Guangzhou. Since December 31st, 2005, Haizhu District has governed 18 administrative streets: Chigang, Xingang, Binjiang, Sushe, Haizhuang, Fengyang, Longfeng, Shayuan, Ruibao, Jianghai, Nanhuaxi, Nanshitou, Jiangnan Middle, Changgang, Nanzhou, Pazhou, Guanzhou and Huazhou. In 2000, Haizhu District was divided into 14 administrative streets and 1 town, with 389 residents&; committees and 20 villagers&; committees. One of the towns was Xinjiao Town, and then Xinjiao Town had 20 villagers&; committees under its jurisdiction. From the end of 2001 to the beginning of 2002, the administrative divisions were adjusted, Xinjiao Town was abolished, and two streets, Huazhou and Guanzhou, were established. By 2014, Haizhu District had 18 administrative streets and 257 community residents&; committees. The 18 administrative streets are Chigang Street, Xingang Street, Changgang Street, Jiangnan Middle Street, Binjiang Street, Sushe Street, Haizhuang Street, Nanhua West Street, Longfeng Street, Shayuan Street, Nanshitou Street, Fengyang Street, Ruibao Street, Jianghai Street, Pazhou Street, Nanzhou Street, Huazhou Street and Guanzhou Street.
