I. Introduction to Shanghai Intermediate Interpretation Examination:
1. Applicants: anyone can apply for the exam. 2. Exam difficulty: At present, the difficulty of written examination is increasing year by year. The reading articles are all selected from foreign periodicals without any modification, and the reading difficulty is equivalent to that of TOEFL, and it tends to be in line with the high mouth. Listening is more difficult, especially listening and translating, which tests the level of candidates. Generally speaking, the difficulty of oral written test is higher than CET6 and lower than TEM8. 3. Examination form: According to the characteristics of interpretation, with the main goal of testing the level of interpretation, the candidates&; language use ability is comprehensively tested from four aspects: listening, speaking, reading and translation (translation and interpretation). The examination adopts the combination of objective questions and subjective questions, and the combination of single skill test and comprehensive skill test. For example, in the first stage of written examination, objective questions account for about 35% of the total score of written examination papers, and subjective questions account for about 65% of the total score of written examination papers. 4. Each short paragraph is about 60-80 words. The biggest difference between oral and written tests is that there is no specific score, but only a pass and a fail. There are sixteen short paragraphs in intermediate interpretation, and it is necessary to ensure that eleven of them are turned over correctly. That is, you can only make five mistakes at most. If only ten short paragraphs are right and six short paragraphs are wrong, although there is only a short gap, the result is still nothing. Therefore, the oral examination is relatively cruel. This is also the main reason why the passing rate of oral test is particularly low. Generally speaking, the middle mouth does not exceed 30%, and the high mouth does not exceed 20%. For example, an examination room has 20 candidates a day, with a maximum of six to seven students in the middle and three to four students in the high school. When it comes to each paragraph, the examiner will follow the principle of two-thirds accuracy. That is, if there are six key information in a short paragraph, the candidate must correctly turn over at least two-thirds of the content in order to pass the short paragraph, and if he turns over half, he will fail.
