Huadu District was originally Huaxian County and Huadu City. It was built in the 24th year of Emperor Kangxi of Qing Dynasty (AD 1685), and some land was separated from Panyu and Nanhai to build a new county. Because the county seat is near Huacheng, the new county is named &”;Flower&”; and belongs to guangzhou fu.
