Before the reform and opening up, Shenzhen was a Hakka village, and the aborigines were Hakkas, so most of the old houses were Hakka dragon houses. After Shenzhen became a special economic zone without reform and opening-up, people from all over the country flocked to it, so the population structure of Shenzhen was complicated. Almost every province in the country has people in Shenzhen, and now the aborigines only account for a small proportion in Shenzhen.
