Dongguan is located in the south-central part of Guangdong Province, northeast of the Pearl River Delta, 50 kilometers north of Guangzhou, 90 kilometers south of Shenzhen, 47 nautical miles by water and 48 nautical miles to Macau. It is in the middle of the Guangzhou-Hong Kong Economic Corridor and is the only place for land and water transportation between Guangzhou and Macao.
