South China University of Technology, a national key university of South China University of Technology, is located in Guangzhou, Guangdong Province, directly under the Ministry of Education. It is a national key university jointly established by the Ministry of Education and Guangdong Province, ranking among the &”;211 Project&”;, &”;985 Project&”; and &”;World-class University and First-class Discipline&”;. He has been selected into the &”;Academic Innovation and Intelligence Introduction Program in Colleges and Universities&”;, &”;Excellent Engineer Education and Training Program&”;, &”;Excellent Legal Talents Education and Training Program&”;, new engineering research and practice projects, national high-level university graduate programs, scholarship receiving institutions for international students in China, and the base for studying in China by the Ministry of Education. He is a major member of the Old Eight Schools of Architecture, the Alliance of Excellent Universities, the Sino-Russian Engineering University Alliance, the China-Europe Engineering Education Platform, the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Logistics and Supply Chain Innovation Alliance, and the Sino-British University Engineering Education and Research Alliance. It is a comprehensive research university that is good at work, combines science with engineering, and has coordinated development of management, economics, literature, law and medicine. [6] South China University of Technology, formerly known as South China Institute of Technology, was established in 1952 during the adjustment of colleges and universities in China. It was based on the engineering departments and majors of Sun Yat-sen University, South China United University Institute of Technology, Lingnan University Institute of Technology and Guangdong Institute of Technology, and was transferred to some engineering departments and majors of five universities, including Hunan University, Zhonghua University in Wuchang, Wuhan Jiaotong University, Nanchang University and Guangxi University. It was even renamed in 1988. The Institute of Technology of Sun Yat-sen University was established in 1934, which originated from the Institute of Technology of Sun Yat-sen University established in 1931. As of July 2018, the school covers an area of about 3.91 million square meters. The campus is divided into three campuses. Wushan Campus is located in Shipai University District, Tianhe District, Guangzhou. The University Town Campus is located in Guangzhou University Town, Panyu District, Guangzhou. Guangzhou International Campus is located in Innovation City, Panyu District, Guangzhou.
